History
The area was first settled in the late 1800s and was named after Queen Victoria. It was originally a farming community, with sheep and cattle farming being the main industries. Later, gold mining became a major industry in the area and many of the original buildings from this era can still be seen today.

Queensberry is located in a valley between the Pisa Range to the north and the Dunstan Mountains to the south. The settlement sits at an elevation of around 350 metres above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including several small lakes and streams.
