History
The Leslie family arrived in New Zealand from Scotland in the early 1840s and eventually settled in the Foxton area. William Leslie built the homestead in the 1860s and it remained in the family until the mid-20th century. The homestead and surrounding land were donated to the people of Foxton in 1968 and are now managed by the Horowhenua Historical Society.
