History
Belfast was originally a rural area with a few scattered farmhouses. In the early 1900s, the area was subdivided into residential lots and the first homes were built. Over time, the area developed into a thriving suburb, with a range of amenities and services for residents. Belfast was heavily damaged during the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, but has since been rebuilt and continues to grow.
